Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna provides a welcoming senior living environment where residents are supported with personalized care, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to maintain as much independence as possible. Our team works closely together to provide the right level of support while honoring each resident’s choices, routines, and individual needs.

At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: Inspiring people to live their best lives. As a Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech, you will provide quality personal care and daily living support while helping ensure each resident’s care reflects their individual preferences and Resident Service Agreement.

What You’ll Do

As a Personal Care Assistant / Med Tech, you will work closely with residents, nurses, and other team members to provide medication support, personal care, and assistance with daily living while encouraging independence and maintaining dignity.

You will:

  • Complete medication passes according to established regulations, the five rights of medication administration, and resident preferences.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living according to their individualized plan of care.

  • Support residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, and other personal-care needs.

  • Obtain and document vital signs, including weights, as scheduled or ordered.

  • Complete monthly resident summaries as required.

  • Monitor residents and communicate changes, concerns, or needs to the appropriate clinical leader.

  • Complete required resident documentation accurately in the electronic medical record.

  • Assist with resident laundry according to established schedules.

  • Spend meaningful one-on-one time with residents as needs and schedules allow.

  • Communicate resident concerns and needs to the Director of Assisted Living and incoming or outgoing team members.

  • Assist with general cleaning responsibilities, including removing trash, making beds, organizing, and vacuuming as needed.

  • Help residents get to and from scheduled activities when time allows.

  • Monitor meal service and provide reminders or assistance to residents as needed.

  • Build positive relationships with residents through compassionate, respectful, and dependable care.

  • Work collaboratively with nursing and community team members to support a positive resident experience.

  • Assist with additional resident-care and community responsibilities as assigned.

The role combines medication support, personal care, vital-sign monitoring, documentation, laundry, activity support, and daily living assistance.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and genuinely enjoys helping aging adults maintain their independence.

The right candidate will understand that great care means supporting residents while respecting their individual routines, preferences, choices, and abilities. You should also be comfortable balancing hands‑on care with the accuracy and attention to detail required for medication administration.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Previous experience as a Med Tech, Personal Care Assistant, caregiver, CNA, Nurse Tech, or similar direct‑care role preferred.

  • Experience working with aging adults in assisted living, memory support, senior living, long‑term care, or a similar setting preferred.

  • A compassionate and respectful approach to personal care.

  • Strong attention to detail with medication administration, vital signs, and documentation.

  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with residents, families, nurses, and team members.

  • Ability to recognize and promptly communicate changes in a resident’s condition or behavior.

  • Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate support.

  • Dependability and consistent follow‑through.

  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple resident needs.

  • A calm, flexible, and professional approach in stressful or changing situations.

  • Comfort using electronic documentation and medication systems.

  • A team‑focused attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.

Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Medication Aide coursework preferred.

  • 40 hour Nebraska Medication Aide certification required.

  • Previous experience providing personal care to aging adults in assisted living or memory support preferred.
