Job summary

Oakwood Village in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking qualified Resident Assistants to provide personal care and support for residents, under supervision of licensed staff. Positions include CNA/RA roles with hands-on care, medications administration under supervision, and shift coverage across PM/NOC, with weekend options.

We offer on-site CBRF training and a benefits-friendly schedule for staff working 37.5 hours or more every two weeks.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in elderly care is required.
• Completion of state certified CNA course preferred.
• Completion of required CBRF and Oakwood training within state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Caregivers provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, laundry, incontinence, dining).
• Provide health services meeting physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs; may involve transfers and use of lifting devices.
• Distribute medications and perform prescribed treatments under licensed nurse supervision.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid; support activities and encourage attendance.
• Assist in transporting residents and arranging medical appointments; monitor schedules.

Oakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified caregivers to join one of our beautiful Madison locations as a Resident Assistant. Our Resident Assistants and CNA/RA's are responsible for personal care of the residents, care of the resident environment special treatments and procedures, reporting, and recording information.

• Pay starting at $19.50/HR or more for experienced CNA/RA's
• Pay starting at $16.50/HR or more for experienced RA's
• Shift differentials for PM & NOC, and weekend.
• Insurance and Paid Time Off offered for staff working 37.5hrs or more every two weeks.

Job Responsibilities (Not Intended To Be An All-inclusive List)

• Caregivers/Nursing Assistants provide assistance to the residents as needed, with activities of daily living. This includes: bathing, dressing grooming, personal laundry, management of incontinence, housekeeping, and dining services.
• Provides health services to residents that meet their physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs and preferences. Based on care provided in each program, physical needs may include completion of one or two person transfers, use of mechanical lifting devices, feeding, etc.
• Responsible for the distribution of medications and performance of prescribed treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse and according to state regulation.
• Caregivers/Nursing Assistants respond to emergencies providing first aid treatment per training.
• Assists in providing and performing activities to small and large groups of residents as assigned including informing residents of activity schedule and encouraging attendance.
• Assist in transporting residents as needed within the Oakwood campus, and in arranging for medical appointments and transportation when needed. Monitor appointment schedule and remind residents.
• Performs other similar duties as assigned.

Job Experience/Training required (Not intended to be an all-inclusive list)

• Completion of state certified CNA course preferred.
• Completion of required CBRF and Oakwood training within time frames dictated by state regulation and Oakwood policy required.
• Prior experience in working with elderly in an assisted living environment is required.
• If under 18, waiver will need to be obtained.
