Job summary

Alloys Tech Inc. is seeking a hands-on Assistant Yard Operator in Woodstock, IL to support daily yard operations. This full-time role focuses on shipping & receiving, inventory control, and material processing.

You will operate a forklift, manage the inventory system, generate load reports, and help keep the yard safe and organized in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate has scrapyard or heavy-material handling experience and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in scrap yard, recycling facility, or similar industrial environment.
• Forklift experience required.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Attention to detail for inventory and reporting.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong work ethic, safety-minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle all shipping and receiving using a forklift.

Position Overview
We are hiring a full-time Assistant Yard Operator to support daily yard operations. This is a hands‑on role focused on shipping & receiving, inventory management, and material processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all shipping and receiving using a forklift
• Manage and maintain our inventory system with accurate records
• Prepare and generate reports for each load
• Sort and process scrap materials (ferrous & non-ferrous alloys) as needed
• Load and unload trucks and containers
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe
• Assist with quality control and material identification

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or similar industrial environment strongly preferred
• Forklift experience required
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail for inventory and reporting
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic, safety-minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly pay — $15–$25+/hr depending on experience and skills (highly flexible for the right candidate)
• Opportunities for overtime
