Job summary

Heritage Academy AZ is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach to support the Head Wrestling Coach in promoting fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship. The role provides leadership and supervision for team and individual athletes, working closely with staff and administration.

The position emphasizes facilitating skill development, adhering to district policies, and maintaining health and safety standards during practices and competitions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years coaching student athletes in an academic setting is preferred.
• Special Skills: NFHS and Concussion certified required.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in physically demanding athletic activities.
• Possesses knowledge of effective behavior management methods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the wrestling program and team.
• Help students achieve gains in athletic skill and team performance.
• Assist in designing a training program and game program.
• Assist in organizing and supervising the coaching staff to assure proper program implementation.
• Assume duties of the Head Coach if required to do so.
• Assist in developing team rules and enforcing them with players and parents.
