Assistant Wrestling Coach at Sisters High School

Position Overview

We invite applications for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach at Sisters High School, a proud 3A member of the OSAA Special District 4. The assistant coach will support the head coach in developing the wrestling program, coordinating with middle school and youth programs, and ensuring academic success for all student‑athletes while adhering to school, conference, and OSAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with the wrestling program and its culture.
• Support operations and coordination with middle school and youth wrestling programs.
• Develop and implement a vision for the district wrestling program K‑12.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and administration on plans and expectations.
• Serve as a role model, maintaining high ethical and sportsmanship standards.
• Develop and implement an off‑season program for athletes.
• Work with local media and OSAA for reporting results.
• Assist in fundraising and recommend/purchase equipment; manage inventory and care of supplies/uniforms.
• Ensure injury protocols involve athletic trainer, parents, and medical professionals.
• Celebrate all levels of athletic achievement and promote improvement.
• Create inclusive programs that provide opportunities for all participants.
• Set up and take down home athletic contests; knowledge of wrestling and tournament hosting preferred.
• Exhibit teamwork, loyalty, self‑lessness, cooperation, and commitment to the Sisters community.
• Model the “Outlaws Together” attitude working with all coaches, administrators, and staff.

Qualifications

• Top‑notch teaching, communication, motivation, technology, and organization skills.
• Knowledge and experience in high‑school wrestling; NFHS Foundations of Coaching, Concussion, Steroid, 3‑Dimensional Coaching, and Heat Illness certifications; valid first aid/CPR card.
• Successful high‑school or college coaching experience or equivalent.
• Strong collaboration with other coaches, building enthusiasm, loyalty, cooperation, and friendships focused on excellence.
• High academic expectations for student athletes and accountability for all athletes.

Salary Stipend Range

$4,791.99 – $5,800.83 (2026‑2027 Co‑Curricular salary schedule). Seasonal stipend based on prior paid coaching experience.
