The Bettendorf Community School District is seeking an Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach (HS) to lead and mentor student-athletes. You will foster a positive team culture, promote skill development, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for all players.

Responsibilities include supervising athletes, coordinating meetings with parents, assisting with forms, equipment, and game day readiness, and collaborating with the head coach and athletic trainer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure athletes are properly supervised at all times.
• Organize meetings with parents to discuss policies and expectations.
• Assist with completing forms and concussion paperwork.
• Prepare equipment and issue uniforms as needed.
• Enforce training rules and eligibility, report violations.
• Help organize home events and prepare facilities.
• Supervise locker rooms and secure facilities after events.
• Attend all practices and games or be available for scouting.
• Report injuries to head coach and athletic trainer, assist with accident forms.
• Notify media of outcomes and help prepare statistics.

The districtis seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead and mentor student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for fostering a positive team culture, promoting skill development, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all players.

Stipend: $5,314 (2026-27 school year)

Qualifications for this position:

• Must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Coaching license
• Ability to work well with others and willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
• Enjoys working with young people as well as staff and parents
• Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, which includes, but is not limited to: confidentiality, good oral and written communication skills, regular attendance and appropriate dress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all athletes are properly supervised at all times.
• Participate in organizing and conducting a meeting with parents to discuss policies, expectations and any other information deemed necessary, before the first interscholastic contest.
• Assist with making sure that all physical forms and concussion are completed and returned to the head coach.
• Help get equipment ready to be used and assist the head coach in issuing equipment and uniforms.
• Ensure that training rules and eligibility regulations are enforced and violations reported.
• Help organize home events and get facilities ready for use.
• Help supervise and maintain the locker rooms.
• Help secure the facilities after events and practices.
• Attend all practice sessions and all games, or be available for a scouting assignment.
• Report all injuries to the head coach and athletic trainer. Assist in completing accident forms.
• Assist in notifying media of outcomes of events and help prepare stats forBound.
• Help collect and inventory equipment and uniforms at the end of the season.
• Suggest to the head coach any new equipment purchases.
• May be required to work an extended contract if applicable, if the team goes to higher levels of competition.
• Carry out all duties assigned by the activities director, building principal or superintendent.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
