Job summary

Navillus Dressage & Sport Horses, LLC in Rutherfordton, NC, seeks a dedicated barn attendant to feed, turnout, grooming and tack for a 12–14‑horse program with a planned 10‑stall expansion in 2027. The team emphasizes a peaceful, organized environment to support horse care and schooling.

Workdays are about 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, roughly 5.5 days weekly; Thursdays and Sundays off for vets and rest. Applicants must live in the USA or have visa status, be able to handle young warmbloods, and perform

Qualifications

• Must live in the USA or already have visa.
• Ability to handle young warmbloods.
• Ability to hack/ warm up dressage horses.
• The ability to lift a 50 lb. bag of grain and/or bale of hay.
• Feeding of morning and afternoon grain per detailed feeding chart.
• Setting up grain for next meal.
• Blanketing changes for horses depending on weather changes.
• Leading to and from turn out.
• Organization/ Problem Solving/ Multitasking/ Time Management
• Attention to detail. The ability to monitor horses or changes in health or soundness and perform basic first aid skills such as temperature, bandaging or drug administration if required.
• Body clipping/mane pulling
• Horse show grooming/braiding
• Starting young horses.

Job description

Employee will be responsible for feeding, turnout daily; grooming & tacking on some days. Our farm has 12 -14 horses, with a 10-stall expansion planned in 2027. We have a variety of horses of all breeds. We are a ridiculously organized group of folks whose top priority is a peaceful quiet barn, that is conducive to the working of our team and horses. Our horses work five days a week, with Thursdays off for vets etc. and Sunday's off to rest. I am a graduate of the L education program with distinction and a USDF bronze and silver medalist. My emphasis is on education of the equines and people from the ground up. This Position is 5.5 days a week, approximately 8 am - 4:30 pm.
