Job summary

Plano Community Unit School District 88 is seeking a qualified athletics/coaching candidate to assist the Head Coach in developing practice schedules and an academic plan to raise student achievement.

The role emphasizes collaboration with school administrations, program supervision, and coordination of summer activities, with responsibilities spanning equipment management and event planning to support a high-quality athletic experience for all students.

Qualifications

• PEL or certified coach required
• ASEP certification and/or substitute certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in developing a well-organized practice schedule and utilize staff at all levels
• Assist Head Coach in creating a well-defined academic plan to raise student performance
• Cooperate with athletic and school administration to provide a quality athletic experience
• Maximize practice time for individual and team development
• Provide supervision of locker room, training room, and bus trips
• Assist in summer/offseason program to develop skills and strength
• Maintain program paperwork for eligibility, registration and scores
• Plan and prepare for banquets and events to recognize athletes
• Manage equipment issuance, collection, inventory and storage
• Communicate equipment requests and budget needs to administration
• Follow district procedures for equipment purchases and budget adherence
• Attend all-conference meetings and comply with IHSA requests
• Maintain communication with feeder coaches, programs, parents and athletes
