Job summary

Valley Catholic School is seeking Assistant Track Coaches with experience in throws, sprints and mid-distance to educate student athletes in a Catholic community; promote character and leadership.

The role is non-management and independent contractor, with a season from March 1 to May 29, 2027. Certification requirements include ASEP/NFHS, First Aid/CPR, and fingerprint background checks.

Qualifications

• ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen).
• Knowledge of technical aspects of track events and willingness to learn.
• Ability to verify identity and complete background and fingerprint checks.

Essential job functions

1. To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
2. To provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, faith, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence.

Special Requirements

1. ASEP/NFHS and Coaching Certifications (including First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen as well as all Archdiocesan required training and certifications.
2. Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to coaching and the assigned sport.
3. The person employed for this position must be able to verify identity, employment authorization, complete a background check, and complete a fingerprint check.
