Job summary

North Chicago Community Unit School District #187 is seeking a dedicated athletics coach at NCCHS/NMSA to lead the sports program and guide athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and training. The coach will implement district policies and help foster teamwork and character in student-athletes.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Athletic Director, supervising practices and games, and ensuring safety and discipline while promoting sportsmanship and academic balance.

Qualifications

• Has a valid Illinois coaching certification.
• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport is desirable.
• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement the athletic policy approved by the District 187 Board of Education.
• Understand state and league regulations and apply them consistently.
• Direct student/parent requests or grievances to the head coach and Athletic Director.
• Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the sports program.
