Job summary
WEST JEFFERSON HIGH in Harvey, Louisiana is seeking an Assistant Coach for Indoor and Outdoor Track (BOYS) to support the head coach in developing and organizing the track program. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively in English, uphold all district and LHSAA regulations, and assist with equipment, schedules and student welfare while preparing athletes for competition.
This full-time role requires after-school commitments and occasional weekend events, in collaboration with school
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate and LHSAA requirements.
- CDL Class B with P and S endorsements with no air brake restrictions.
- Meets the Louisiana Dept. of Education school bus driver component.
- Employment with JPPSS as a teacher/administrator.
- Meets Article 3.3 (Faculty Coaches) requirements of LHSAA handbook.
- Track fundamentals and LHSAA/JPPSS rules knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in developing and organizing the track program.
- Adhere to LHSAA and JPPSS rules and regulations.
- After-school prep time for the team; some weekends/holidays as needed.
- Provide supervision of equipment, rosters and safety.
- Collaborate with athletic director and administrator in charge.
