Job summary

The People Brand is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support the development of high-quality swim, active, and lifestyle apparel with a focus on fit, construction, function, and quality. This role collaborates with Technical Design, Production, and external vendors throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include prototype tracking, maintaining tech packs and measurements, reviewing samples, and organizing documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Understanding of the end-to-end apparel product lifecycle.
• Experience measuring garment samples and maintaining technical data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and collaborative mindset.
• Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and learning quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Duplicate and maintain tech packs, including entering and updating measurements.
• Measure and review prototype, SMS, PP, and TOP samples against submitted tech packs.
• Prepare weekly fit lists across product categories.
• Respond to vendor questions and support timely communication throughout development.
• Maintain sample trackers and monitor deadlines against the development calendar.
• Organize and maintain tech pack files and documentation.
• Partner with domestic Production to support pattern printing and related needs.
• Maintain and organize the sample closet by season and delivery.
• Support additional Technical Design needs as required.
