Job summary

West Coast Convenience is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support the Team Leader in all aspects of store operations at our Union City, CA locations. You will actively coach, problem-solve, and ensure daily execution meets company standards, stepping in to lead the store in the Team Leader’s absence.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching teammates, and delivering a consistently high-quality customer experience in a fast-paced retail environment across California.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–9 months of assistant manager or related experience.
• Strong math, English communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Retail, convenience, food service, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and grow into a Team Leader role.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Position Summary

Physical Requirements

The Assistant Team Leader position requires constant standing, bending and reaching with a moderate amount of manual dexterity, and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. The Assistant Team Leader must be comfortable working in varied environments, which include outdoor areas during hot summer conditions as well as cold indoor spaces, such as walk-in freezers.

Employee Incentives

• Employees that are with us for 6 months to 3 years = 0.10 cents off a gallon of fuel
• Employees that are with us for 3 years to 5 years = 0.30 cents off a gallon of fuel
• Employees that have been with us for 5+ years = 0.40 cents off a gallon of fuel
• MAXIMUM 20 GALLONS AND 2 FILL UPS PER WEEK
