Job summary

Community United Child Care Centers Inc. seeks an Assistant Teacher for our Waterloo and Cedar Falls locations. The role supports Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is a strong team player, and aims to make a positive difference in children's lives and families within a collaborative center setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands of childcare tasks.
• Willing to complete required trainings and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with daily care, supervision, and education of children.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Assist with planning age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.
• Interact with children in a positive, respectful, and encouraging manner.
• Follow classroom routines, schedules, and center policies.
• Maintain supervision and stay in ratio at all times.
• Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, handwashing and other routines.
