Job summary

Child Development Schools in Southport, North Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join a collaborative classroom. You will support the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate lessons, hands-on activities, storytelling, and everyday moments that foster curiosity, kindness, and growth.

You will build relationships with families, help maintain a safe, clean classroom, observe children's development, and participate in documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
