Job summary

KDMC Ashland Hospital Corporation is seeking a Child Development Supervisor to oversee the safety and well-being of children, coordinate activities, and support development in a pediatric setting.

The role includes supervising classroom activities, promoting developmental growth, and ensuring health policy compliance. Candidates should have CPR/First Aid certification; CDA preferred. Primarily on-site in Ashland, KY, with opportunities for part-time or PRN schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 0-2 years of paid experience in a related field; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• CPR and First Aid certification; CDA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates room decoration and displays under the direction of the lead teacher.
• Maintains compliance with state and local health department policies in the classroom.
• Assists with cleaning and sanitizing classroom surfaces, furniture, and learning resources.
• Disinfects toys and educational materials regularly.
• Handles discipline promptly and appropriately according to policy, seeking guidance as needed.
• Informs lead teacher of classroom supply, maintenance, or other concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintains effective communication with parents while ensuring confidentiality.
• Reports suspected child abuse or neglect to the Site Director or Administrative Director and contacts appropriate agencies per policy.
• Supports other areas of the center as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Assumes temporary responsibility for classroom activities, outdoor play, and gym time in the absence of the lead teacher. Promotes positive interactions and developmental growth for all children.

0-2 years of experience in a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
