Job summary

The Goddard School of Cypress, TX is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs and a safe, stimulating classroom. You’ll contribute to developmentally appropriate activities and partner with families to track progress in a warm, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in ECE preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with child care duties.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state education/experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Communicate with families about child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
