The Goddard School in Woodcliff Lake, NJ is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher, create engaging programs, and ensure a safe, stimulating environment. Bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to a collaborative team that puts students first.

You will help implement lesson plans, assist in communication with families, and contribute to a premium educational experience in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in handling children.
• Must pass state background checks and meet state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Assist in communicating with families about child progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
• Support daily care routines to promote a nurturing learning environment.
