Job summary

The Goddard School in Toms River, NJ is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher by delivering engaging activities and maintaining a safe, welcoming classroom for young children.

You will help implement lesson plans, monitor development, and communicate with families about daily progress, while upholding health and safety standards in a licensed childcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements.
