The Goddard School in Round Lake, IL is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs and maintaining a safe, stimulating classroom. You’ll contribute to children's development through hands-on activities and daily routines, while joining a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience in licensed childcare or preschool
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children

• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in handling children
• Pass state background checks and meet requirements

Responsibilities

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
