Job summary

Agape Love Childcare Center LLC in Detroit is seeking an energetic Preschool Teacher to guide a class through the school year, assess learners' starting levels, and design instruction to meet collective and individual needs.

You will create a warm, nurturing environment, implement the HighScope curriculum and Head Start standards, and communicate with parents and staff to support children's growth.

Qualifications

• Proven understanding of child development and best practices in education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in classrooms.
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies.
• Wamiliarity with licensing standards and Head Start/HighScope frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, caring and nurturing learning environment.
• Learn, implement and follow HighScope curriculum and Head Start standards.
• Take COR notes to assess children’s growth and development.
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills.
• Create weekly lesson plans.
• Keep a clean, organized classroom.
• Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
• Communicate with parents and school personnel.
• Assess students to ensure milestones are met.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and mediation when needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students' collective and individual needs.

You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, caring and nurturing learning environment.
• Learn, implement and follow the Highscope curriculum, Head Start Performance Standards, licensing rules etc.
• Take COR (child Observation Record) notes to assess children's growth and development
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
• Create Lesson plans weekly
• Keep a clean organized classroom
• Conduct 2 home visits and 2 parent teacher conferences a year
• Communicate with parents and other school personnel
• Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones, etc
• Problem-solving and mediation skills

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Early Childhood or Child Development (preferred)
• Currently working to complete Associates in Early Childhood
• High school Diploma and willing to complete a CDA
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
