Rye YMCA invites applications for an Assistant Child Care Teacher (full-time) in Rye, NY. You will support a classroom of children under guidance of a lead teacher, implement activities, supervise routines, meals, outdoor play, and ensure safety and developmentally appropriate experiences.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, CPR/First Aid, background clearances, NY OCFS training, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Description:

The Assistant Child Care Teacher will work with a group of children under the guidance and supervision of a professional teacher to support the care, safety, and well-being of each child. S/he will use the philosophy of the YMCA mission and the four core values (caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) to deliver and implement a program of the highest quality where every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. The Assistant Child Care Teacher will assist with classroom activities, daily routines, outdoor play, meals, nap time, bathroom/diapering procedures, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The role also includes maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom; completing required documentation; supporting positive relationships with children and families; and working collaboratively with teaching staff to provide a high-quality early childhood program.
