The Goddard School of Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe, stimulating classroom environment.

You will help foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while collaborating with families to track progress and celebrate each child’s growth. Our team emphasizes collaboration, growth, and a premium educational experience for every student.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is desirable.
• Show empathy and compassion for young children.
• Able to work productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:
