Job summary

Child Development Schools in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and help create a warm, nurturing classroom where children explore and grow.

You will engage with young learners through activities and meals, assist with documentation and communication with families, and help maintain safety and organization to meet licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Assistant Teacher - Chattanooga, Tennessee

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements

Pay and benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.
