Job summary

La Petite Academy in Ankeny, IA is hiring Assistant Teachers to care for children in a supportive, family-oriented environment. You will follow licensing guidelines, keep a clean, engaging classroom, and partner with families to ensure each child’s development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Follow licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure daily care of every child.
• Develop ability to observe, assess, and plan for children, and communicate with families.
• Complete extensive training on childcare, preschool and child development topics.
• Meet state/accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Engage in indoor/outdoor activities with children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
• Engage with families and other staff to support child development.
• Observe and document children’s progress and needs.
• Follow safety and licensing guidelines at all times.
