Job summary

Small Fish Big Fish Swim School seeks an Assistant Aquatic Educator to conduct swim lessons for clients of all ages and skill levels in a fun, safety‑minded setting.

This part‑time role covers weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am–3:00pm) with potential light duties related to business operations as needed. You will support aquatic safety and participate in our learn‑to‑swim programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working with kids or swim instruction.
• Ability to organize and instruct groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
• Willingness to perform ad hoc business-related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize and instruct individual students and small groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
• Teach babies and me, preschool aquatics, and six learn‑to‑swim levels (guppies to sharks).
• Lift and maneuver students to teach proper technique throughout the lesson.
• Follow Small Fish Big Fish methods and techniques for daily instruction.
• Represent the company at community events by educating on water safety and drowning prevention.

Assistant Aquatic Educators at Small Fish Big Fish Swim School will be responsible for conducting swim lessons for multiple clients of different ages and skill levels. Aquatic Educators may sometimes be asked to perform ad hoc business-related duties.

Schedule: Part - Time (Weekends Only)

Responsibilities

• Organize and instruct individual students and small groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
• This includes babies and me, preschool aquatics, and six levels of learn-to-swim courses (guppies, minnows, goldfish, barracudas, dolphins, sharks).
• Lift and maneuver students to educate them on proper technique throughout the lesson.
• Follow Small Fish Big Fish methods and techniques for daily instruction.
• Act as a company spokesperson at community events by educating potential clients and community members on water safety and drowning prevention.

Requirements

• Schedule: Must be able to work a minimum of two days, Monday - Wednesday, from 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm and a minimum of one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday, from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
• At least 1year experience working with kids or Swim Instruction, Education, and/or Aquatics.

Physical Demands

• Ability to Walk and Stand for long periods of time
• Ability to squat, bend, reach, and climb frequently
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently

Work Environment

• Work will be conducted primarily in water/swimming pool setting of the facility
• Due to water temperature, temperature may slightly fluctuate
• May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces, or surfaces covered with gymnastics equipment
• Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
