Reports To: School Athletic Director and/or School Administration

Job Summary: Rock Hill Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Athletic Coach to lead, motivate, and develop athletes to reach their highest potential in both skill and character. The Athletic Coach will plan and implement practice sessions, guide athletes in training and competition, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and ensure the health and safety of all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective training programs and practice plans.
  • Instruct athletes in the rules, techniques, and strategies of the sport.
  • Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, effort, integrity, and mutual respect.
  • Ensure adherence to all rules and regulations set by the school, league, or governing body.
  • Monitor the physical and mental condition of athletes, including injury prevention and first response.
  • Coordinate with assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff.
  • Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and administration.
  • Attend all practices, games, meetings, and required events.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory related to the specific sport.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to student‑athletes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven coaching experience in [specific sport, e.g., basketball, soccer, track, etc.].
  • Knowledge of sport-specific techniques, rules, and strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Satisfactory background report

Preferred:

  • Experience coaching at the [high school/collegiate/professional] level.
  • Relevant coaching certification (e.g., NFHS, USA Coaching, etc.)
