Job summary

St. Louis City Circuit Court is seeking an Assistant Supervisor Security Officer to support the Supervisor of Security.

You will help supervise the Security Unit and manage day-to-day security at the Juvenile Court, including reception and collaboration with the Sheriff’s Department. The role requires eligibility as a Licensed Armed Private Security Officer, ability to carry a firearm, and annual training compliance.

Qualifications

• Eligible to be a Licensed Armed Private Security Officer.
• Ability to carry a firearm and complete annual training.
• Pass Physical Agilities Test (P.A.T) annually.
• Experience with x-ray and metal detectors preferred.
• Able to work rotating or flexible hours.
• Pass pre-employment physical and fitness exams as needed.
• Must provide own handgun.
• Uniform provided at own cost but uniform allowance possible.
• Able to stand for long periods and work outside in all weather.
• High school diploma or equivalent; four-year degree or associate's preferred.

Responsibilities

Assistant Supervisor Security Officer

Position Definition

Under general supervision of the Supervisor of Security. The Assistant Security Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the supervision needs of the Security Unit and provide day‑to‑day security needs at the Juvenile Court, including internal and external security, reception services, and assistance to the various units of the Juvenile Division as well as the Sheriff’s Department.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to be a Licensed Armed Private Security Officer by the St. Louis County Police Department Private Security Unit and be able to carry a firearm while on duty and participate in all assigned training on an annual basis.
• Must be able to pass Physical Agilities Test (P.A.T) prior to hiring and on an annual basis.
• Experience in the use and operation of x‑ray and metal detection equipment preferred.
• Must be able to work rotating or flexible hours.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical and may be required to successfully complete physical fitness examinations as needed.
• All Officer’s must provide their own handgun.
• Must be able to provide their own uniform out of pocket but may be eligible to receive an annual uniform allowance.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A four‑year degree in a related field or an associate’s degree combined with experience in the field is preferred.
• Paid supervisory experience of security staff is desirable.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
