Somerville District Court is seeking an Assistant Supervisor Financial Accounting to oversee bookkeeping for the Somerville division. You will supervise staff, manage daily receipts, and ensure accurate posting and reporting of all revenues.
The role supports financial audits, prepares financial statements, coordinates with banks and external agencies, and closes the books at month end. Strong supervisory, analytical, and communication skills are required.

Pay Grade: Grade 16S
Salary Range: 16S Entry Level Pay $69,397.90to Pay Range Maximum $102,281.40
Starting Pay: $69,397.90
Salary Notes: This position is designated as a Union position. All new hires must start at the entry level rate for this role per the collective bargaining agreement/MOA with OPEIU, Local 6. Pay may advance within the salary band according to the CBA/MOU.

Performs bookkeeping duties for an assigned court. Work involves overseeing the collection of all monies and checks, processing all disbursements, daily and monthly posting, maintaining trial balances, maintaining and balancing court bank accounts, and preparing reports for the Clerk-Magistrate, Registers of Probate, and Chief Probation Officer as required. Reconciles daily receipts and makes deposits. Prepares financial reports and performs various administrative tasks and special projects as required. Functions in a supervisory capacity and oversees work of staff collecting payments. May also perform administrative and case processing duties as needed.
