Job summary

Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support daily on-site management of construction activities. This full-time role travels nationwide to assist with safety, scheduling, and coordination across projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, 0–5 years of related experience, and OSHA 30 certification. You will work directly with the Superintendent and Project Manager to drive project success on-site.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Travel nationwide as needed on project sites.
• Assist in administering the project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Provide technical assistance on the project, interpret contract drawings and submittals.
• Manage select self-perform and subcontractor operations including safety, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Assist Superintendent and Project Manager with daily and weekly tasks including reports and schedule updates.
• Understand the project schedule and the critical path.
• Review and contribute to short-term plans.
• Participate in the quality program including inspections and material verification.
• Interface professionally with client representatives, A-E reps, other contractors, and building officials as required.
• Support business development by leveraging contacts to initiate leads for future projects.
• Attend monthly superintendent meetings, quarterly safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Develop skills to become a Superintendent and manage all aspects of a construction project.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $89,000

Reporting directly to the Superintendent and General Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will help with daily on-site management of construction activities on the project site.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Willing to travel nationwide
• Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Provides technical assistance on the project, interprets contract drawings and submittals
• Manage select self-perform operations and subcontractor operations including safety, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Assist Superintendent and Project Manager with daily and weekly tasks including daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates.
• Understand the project schedule and the critical path
• Review and provide content for the short-term plan
• Participate in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials.
• Interface with client representatives, A-E representatives, other contractors, and various building officials in a professional manner when required
• Participate in business development. Create Raving Fans on current projects. Utilize contacts to initiate leads for future projects
• Participate in monthly superintendent's meetings, quarterly safety meetings, and periodic training sessions
• Develop skills required to become a Superintendent and manage and control all aspects of a construction project

Required Experience

• Has acted as a traveling assistant superintendent previously, preferred
• Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Construction Management/Civil Engineering.
• 0-5 years of experience in the construction field or related field in a similar role.
• Understands building plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of safety standards and enforcement.
• OSHA 30 Required.
