Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent in Indianapolis to lead field activities, coordinate with the project team, and drive safe, on-time project execution from early planning through the lifecycle. The role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of projects and growth with experienced professionals invested in your development.

You will engage in preconstruction planning, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination while advancing in a hands-on leadership capacity on

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program.
• A strong interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
• Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction planning – attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Project scheduling – work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Field leadership – oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
• Subcontractor coordination – manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.
