Job summary

Ironmark Building Co. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent Intern to begin mid-late May 2027 in Minneapolis. You will assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with daily reports, safety walks, and weekly schedule updates.

You will gain hands-on experience in estimating, buyouts, submittals and change management while interacting with owner/clients, consultants and subcontractors on one or more projects at a time.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year Construction Program.
• Basic knowledge of construction practices, processes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interact with teammates, contractors and owners in a professional, courteous manner.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach who adapts to a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and strong desire to learn.
• Ability to present information verbally and in writing.
• English literacy for reports and business communication; able to perform math including algebra and geometry.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of project operations, people and processes.
• Ensure timely, quality and cost-effective completion of commercial projects.
• Maintain vigilant cost containment, risk management and safety on-site per OSHA regulations.
• Interface effectively with staff, contractors, vendors and stakeholders.
• Complete and oversee daily work documentation and timely submission of paperwork.
• Ensure adherence to the schedule and expeditie subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supervise on-site construction activities with the project Superintendent.
• Develop schedules and coordinate trades.

You will assist the Superintendent and job site with the following responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day management of overall project operations, people, and process
• Ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective completion of commercial projects
• Vigilant cost containment, risk management, and ensuring the safety of all on-site; ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA regulations
• Interface effectively with staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Complete and oversee maintenance of all daily work documentation and other paperwork required, submitting all as required on a timely basis
• Ensure adherence to the schedule, expediting subcontractors and suppliers as required

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year Construction Program
• Basic knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to interact with co-workers, contractors, and owners in an articulate, pleasant, courteous, and business-like manner at all times providing the best possible representation of IRONMARK.
• Must be a self-starter with a proactive approach who can adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
• Must have a positive attitude and strong desire to learn
• Ability to effectively present information and provide a verbal and/or written response
• Ability to read, write, spell, speak, and understand English to effectively write reports and business correspondence and can perform math calculations including algebra and geometry
• Must have access to reliable transportation
