Job summary

ADM is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in daily grain operations, safety, and maintenance at our Indiana facility. You will lead hourly staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive improvements in safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience in a production environment, strong problem solving, and the ability to train and develop a team while maintaining documentation and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred for the role.
• High School Diploma or GED with on-the-job training required.
• 2-3 years' experience developing a team.
• Experience with safety compliance and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to train hourly staff.

Responsibilities

• Executes plans according to the work schedule and assigns shift resources.
• Ensures safety compliance and leads safety processes with a goal of zero injuries.
• Recognizes hazards and takes actions to eliminate them to protect employee safety and product quality.
• Addresses employee concerns and maintains good communications and morale on shift and within department.
• Develops employees and actively trains hourly labor.
• Utilizes mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings and grounds.
• Collaborates with facility management to improve safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and OEE.
• Leads preventive maintenance schedules, inspections and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Partners with Plant Superintendent on work schedules and documentation.
• Identifies cost-saving ideas and maintains documentation.
