Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a safety‑minded construction leader to manage projects from planning through completion. Based in White Plains, NY or Jersey City, NJ, you will coordinate schedules, supervise subcontractors, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery while upholding ARCO’s safety standards.

The role requires 2+ years of construction experience, travel across the country, and proficiency with common office and scheduling software.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of construction experience.
  • Ground up commercial or industrial experience preferred.
  • Pre-cast or tilt-up construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel across the country.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
  • Current valid driver's license in your state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information for preplanning.
  • Assist in preparing schedules, organization structure, staff, and manpower/equipment needs.
  • Direct construction activities to meet specs and schedule for profitability.
  • Assist PM/engineer with material shipments and shop drawing approvals.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to integrate with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors of schedule changes promptly.
  • Prepare job progress and cost reports to reflect actual costs.
  • Review and approve requisitions, POs, invoices, and reports.
  • Cooperate with owners, architects, and representatives on progress.
  • HOLD jobsite meetings with PM and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to PM on progress, plans, and issues.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts and approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to the company safety program.

A Day In The Life


  • Attend the post award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning prior to construction

  • Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and the manpower and construction equipment requirements of the project

  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit

  • Assist in the activities of the project manager/engineer in their duties including prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, in obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples

  • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to permit them to perform their work effectively and to integrate it with project schedules and progress

  • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes

  • Assist in the preparation of all job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs

  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents

  • Cooperate with the owner and his representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress

  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis, but in the long term interest of the company

  • Hold jobsite meetings with project manager and the regional manager

  • Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules

  • Maintain a daily diary to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements and approvals

  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project


Necessary Qualifications


  • 2+years of construction experience

  • Ground up commercial or industrial experience preferred

  • Pre-cast or tilt-up construction experience preferred

  • Ability to travel across the country

  • Computer skills: proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs

  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence

This represents typical base compensation for the role. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.


Pay Range

$80,000 - $110,000 USD
