IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team at our Blue Bell, PA headquarters. The role supports the Site Superintendent with progress oversight, subcontractor coordination, and safety adherence on technically complex facilities projects.

You will assist in documentation, but also contribute to preconstruction and closeout plans, with 25% travel and potential relocation to client sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role.
• Experience supporting non-residential construction projects is required, preferably on technically complex projects such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, mission critical, or industrial facilities.

We are looking for a talented Assistant Superintendent to join our dedicated team based out of our headquarters in Blue Bell, PA.

Project Site: Upper Merion, PA (full-time onsite)

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Site Superintendent for oversight of work progress, subcontractor manpower, and correct work coordination between the trades. You will also assist in ensuring that the subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents and project schedule. Further, you will assist with collecting and assembling on-site testing reports, inspection reports, Operation and Maintenance manuals, and As-Built Drawings for close-out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client.

Additional Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and upkeep of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans.
• Support oversight of subcontractors and vendors to help achieve Project Safety objectives.
• Participate in monitoring and inspecting subcontractor work to ensure alignment with contract documents.
• Help create and manage Project Rolling Completion and Punch Lists.
• Aid in documenting quality-compliant work through as-built drawing walk-downs.
• Record daily construction activities using the Electronic Daily Report system.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role
• Experince supporting non-residential construction projects is required, prefferably on technically complex projects such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, mission critical, or industrial facilities.

Preffered Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experince gained through the construction trades
• Co-Op or Intern experience in Field Engineering, Project Delivery, or a related discipline

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
• Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol.

Travel

• This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
• You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
• Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible, depending on the assignment.

• You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.
• Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
• Work schedule may require flexibility, including availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, as well as weekends.

Safety

• This position is a safety-sensitive position.
• The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
