Assistant Project Superintendent - Greensboro, NC
Christman Southeast Constructors (CSEC) is searching for an Assistant Project Superintendent in our Greensboro region. The role involves various supervisory and scheduling responsibilities across construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Schedules work activities by producing look ahead schedules, along with working with the project team to update or create the project master schedule.
- Supervises and leads safety measures in all areas for all trades, and performs safety audit checklists.
- Provides direct supervision of Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors hourly field forces for work such as carpentry, concrete, general labor, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining the knowledge of miscellaneous materials that are required to sustain safety efforts and materials for self-performed work, and coordinates the procurement of these items through the field office staff.
- Ensures Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors hourly labor timesheets are completed on time and accurately.
- Accurately produces and distributes Daily Reports.
- Maintains awareness of shop drawing information and oversees correct installations based upon the contract documents and shop drawings/submittals.
- Assists in implementation and ongoing execution of Quality Assurance Program.
- Participates in jobsite subcontractor and Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to stay aware of the schedule and potential changes to the work.
- May be assigned a small project as the sole superintendent or assigned to close out a larger project during the final stage of the project.
- Manages conflicts and disputes, focusing on developing mutually acceptable solutions aligned with the contractual agreements.
- Maintains data in required information systems or databases, and utilizes required software.
Education and Experience
- Five (5) or more years of work experience in construction or a related job field.
- Basic computer skills, and a basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word, Procore, Building Information Model (BIM), and a firm knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- -or- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or other relevant coursework, and two years of experience in a supervisory role.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.

- Demonstrated interest in and ability to develop familiarity with the site requirements, tools, methods, and materials of the full range of trade divisions.
- Ability to personally provide high level of interactive service to targeted customer base/market, building relationships and acting as external organizations advocate.
- Must be able to effectively and persuasively express self verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
- Highly motivated, passionate, and creative team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
- Detail oriented with a strong desire for continual improvement in construction management, relationship building, dispute resolution, and communication skills.
Required Technical Credentials
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug and background screening.
