Job summary

MK Concrete Construction seeks an adaptable Assistant Superintendent to support Superintendents and Project Managers on commercial construction projects. You will assist in on-site supervision, manage project documentation, and help maintain safety, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance across smaller jobs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and adherence to company policies while coordinating with customers and subs to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of site admin procedures and field reporting practices.
• Familiarity with project management software applications.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and QA/QC principles.
• Ability to monitor safety and report on-site conditions.
• OSHA/CPR/First Aid training preferred.
• Green card for SCE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and coordinate with subs on scope and staffing.
• Review work scope, schedule, and staffing for conformance to standards.
• Maintain and manage project documentation and logs.
• Assist in project escalation and issue resolution.
• Develop and adhere to project procedures, schedules, and standards.
• Keep the jobsite safe, clean, and orderly.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting Superintendents and Project Managers in planning for the successful fulfillment of construction projects; assisting in supervising the on-site aspects of construction project fulfillment; assuming all of the duties and responsibilities of a Superintendent on assigned smaller jobs; developing and fostering relationships with customers and referral sources; communicating and collaborating with members of management and staff within the Group and throughout the company; providing mentoring and training support to site support staff; ensuring that all team members associated with projects support and adhere to the M-K core values and safety culture and related policies and practices; supporting and adhering to all company operating and regulatory compliance-focused policies and practices.

Education / Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree in construction preferred; specific training and education focused on the construction project management discipline;

• A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent with a commercial general contracts construction company preferred.
