El Macero Country Club in El Macero, CA is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent to join the golf course maintenance team. You will assist with day-to-day agronomic practices and oversight of the course and adjacent grounds, stepping in for the Superintendent when needed.
You will supervise staff, manage irrigation and turf care, and ensure safe, efficient operations with a focus on quality and member experience. A strong background in turf management is required or preferred.

$75,000 - $85,000
Nestled in the small town of Davis California, El Macero Country Club delivers a unique property with challenging treelined bermudagrass fairways, cool-season roughs and bent-poa greens. El Macero Country Club is privately owned with management guidance from Troon Golf and hosts many NCGA events, US Open Qualifiers, and the UC Davis Aggies golf Team.
As a key member of the property's golf course maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance of the complex. The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence.
3+ years of turf grass management experience preferred
Supervisory experience required
A four-year college degree preferred, but not required
GCSAA Member or apprentice preferred but not required
Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
Must possess basic computer skills- Word and Excel
Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
