Job summary

Ulta Beauty in California is seeking an Assistant Stylist to engage guests, consult on hair care needs, and recommend products and services. This temporary role prepares talent for a stylist position, with mentorship for the first months and progression to servicing guests independently by months 4–6.

Responsibilities include performing services under supervision, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting events and promotions to enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license or equivalent required.
• Basic salon techniques in haircutting, coloring, styling, and makeup.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Developed communication skills and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service and meet store goals for retail and service sales.
• Support mentor Stylist with hair services and product knowledge.
• Perform hair services after three months including design, color, styling, and treatments.
• Demonstrate products and drive guest service experience.
• Assist with in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
