Job summary

Ulta Beauty is seeking an Assistant Stylist to engage with guests, consult on hair care needs, and recommend products and services. The role is temporary, with mentorship from an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, then service provision with guests of their own from months 4-6.

Passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and willingness to learn are essential. Demonstrated interest in hair care and makeup, plus basic salon skills and a drive to grow within Ulta Beauty, will help

Qualifications

Knowledge of current salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, and treatments.
Ability to operate salon equipment and handle chemicals safely.
Ability to demonstrate, recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
Strong communication skills with guests and team.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while building clientele.

Responsibilities

Engage with guests to assess hair care needs and recommend services and products.
Consult with guests and deliver quality professional services under mentorship.
Assist with maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the salon.
Ask for bookings and assist with in-store events and promotions.
Stay informed about new trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
