Job summary

XL Parts/The Parts House distribution centre is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee shipping/receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory control while coordinating driver scheduling and front-counter operations in a busy retail environment.

You will lead daily store activities, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain safety and cleanliness across store and warehouse areas. This role reports to store management and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• 1–2 years of retail experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Ship and receive merchandise.
• Assemble and fill customer orders for a 45-minute delivery window.
• Perform inventory and cycle counts.
• Schedule contract drivers as needed.
• Answer customer questions and handle complaints.
• Open and close the store.
• Handle cash, deposits and cash counts.
• Stock and pull parts.
• Answer phones.
• Keep store and front counter clean.
• Maintain a safe warehouse environment.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for expediting shipments of parts sent and returned from or to XL Parts/The Parts House distribution centre(s).

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Shipping and receiving of merchandise
• Assemble and fill customer orders to be delivered within a 45minute window
• Inventory and cycle counts
• Schedules contract drivers based on company business needs
• Answers customer questions and addresses complaints
• Store opening and closing duties
• Handles cash, cash counts, and deposits
• Stocks and pulls parts
• Answers phones
• Keeps store and front counter clean
• Keeps warehouse clean and provides a safe work environment

Requirements:

• High School Degree or GED
• 1 to 2 years ofworking in a retail environment
• Highly motivated to provide superb customer service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required.
