Job summary

Leevers Supermarkets, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in operating our retail location in Philadelphia.

The role focuses on maintaining daily store standards, managing staff, and delivering a high-quality shopping experience for customers. Responsibilities include coaching, training, scheduling, enforcing food safety and sanitation, and overseeing merchandising and inventory control to maximize sales and profits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some college work completed or work equivalent preferred.
• Basic experience with electronic technology and communications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a multi-task environment.
• Leadership competencies: Thought Leadership, Results Leadership, People Leadership, Personal Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility with the Store Manager to ensure store operates according to company standards and maximizes sales and profits.
• Provide leadership to achieve excellent daily store conditions, including produce/meat operations, Food Safety, safety policies, and sanitation.
• Assist with expense control and managing assets, payroll, productivity, and inventory.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop store associates; maintain open communication and handle disciplinary actions as required.
• Assist in the hiring process: phone screens, panel interviews, references, and hiring recommendations.
• Set work priorities, assignments, and staff scheduling; oversee product ordering and meetings.
• Train and develop associates to Leevers standards; ensure good customer service throughout the store.
• Ensure clean, well-stocked, and customer-friendly store with proper merchandising and signage; manage inventory and rotation per standards.
• Implement policies and procedures including accounting, cash handling, inventory, loss prevention, payroll, sanitation, and food safety.
