Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead in the absence of the General Manager, guide client engagements, coach sales, and support leadership initiatives. You will work with the General Manager to achieve store sales goals and educate clients on our iconic products.

The role requires managing Sales Assistants and Studio Interns, traveling for in-home consultations, and maintaining visual standards through merchandising guidelines.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Ability to build relationships and trust with direct reports, peers, and studio clientele.
• Proficiency with MS Office software, web navigation, and 3-D rendering programs.
• Able to routinely move objects weighing more than 20 pounds and to understand safety requirements.

Store Hours: Open daily, Sunday through Saturday (weekend and holiday availability required)

About the Role:

As an Assistant Manager, you will provide leadership support in the absence of the General Manager. You will balance your time between working with clients, supporting leadership initiatives, sales coaching, training, and talent acquisition. You will work in close partnership with the General Manager to achieve the store's sales goals, build client relationships, and become an expert in educating clients on each of our iconic product's story and details. You will report to the General Manager.
