Job summary

Ace Hardware Corporation is seeking a qualified Assistant Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations in partnership with the Store Manager. This full-time exempt role carries responsibility for driving sales, ensuring inventory integrity, and maintaining superior customer service.

You will lead staff, train associates, manage schedules, and support merchandising and safety standards while acting with decision-making authority in the Store Manager’s absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in retail.
• Supervisory experience; exposure to P&L and budgeting is a plus.
• Hardware product knowledge or willingness to learn; strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on hiring decisions or in their absence.
• Train and develop associates; provide performance feedback.
• Supervise staff to meet sales goals and follow procedures.
• Forecast scheduling needs and create work schedules; manage payroll withStore Manager.
