Frattallone’s Hardware in St. Paul, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Grand Ave location near Macalester College. This hands-on leadership role requires energy, customer focus, and the ability to keep the store moving when the Store Manager is away.

You will lead a team, drive sales, ensure top‑notch service, manage inventory, and build relationships with both residential and commercial customers. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment.
• Decision-making and problem-solving without supervision.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle priorities.
• Understanding of retail sales, merchandising, and shrink control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and foster a positive, high-energy store culture.
• Deliver exceptional, proactive customer service.
• Drive sales, profitability, and store goals.
• Keep the sales floor organized, stocked, and merchandised to standards.
• Oversee receiving, deliveries, inventory, safety, and day-to-day operations.
• Coach and develop associates through training and feedback.
• Recruit, onboard, and train new team members.
• Build relationships with retail and commercial customers to grow the business.
• Be a go-to expert across the store for service, product knowledge, and operations.
• Master key services such as key cutting, paint mixing, and lumber handling.
