The Assistant Store Manager at Coach demonstrates a high level of business acumen; delivering sales results through employee development and mentorship. Embodies a strategic mindset to deliver operational efficiencies. Ensures Coach’s standards and competencies are top of mind. They serve as a true utilitarian player; possessing the ability to adapt to all roles within the store’s environment.

Sample of tasks required of role:

SALES
  1. Understand organizational objectives and make decisions in partnership with the Store Manager that align with Company priorities and values.
  2. Develop sales strategies, initiatives, and growth across all categories; communicate goals to the team, track store performance, and achieve sales targets.
  3. Manage productivity; hold management team accountable for personal productivity and contribution.
  4. Develop and monitor clienteling strategies to meet business goals, in partnership with the Store Manager.
  5. Stay informed about market changes and support the execution of sales strategies.
  6. Ensure all associates follow Coach’s Guide to Style and brand standards.
  7. Act as a brand ambassador through community engagement and events.
  8. Resolve customer issues promptly and partner with management as needed.
  9. Build long-term customer relationships to drive business.
  10. Take ownership and accountability for results.
  11. Collaborate with Store/District Manager to meet business needs.
  12. Complete daily tasks without compromising service standards.
  13. Approach challenges proactively and take corrective actions when needed.
  14. Build trusting relationships with peers and team members.
  15. Be receptive to feedback and set goals for improvement.
  16. Delegate tasks and empower team members.
  17. Create a positive environment aligned with the brand’s vision.
  18. Recognize individual performance and foster team morale.
OPERATIONS
  1. Evaluate team performance and provide feedback; develop action plans for growth.
  2. Address performance issues using appropriate coaching techniques.
  3. Adhere to retail policies and procedures.
  4. Utilize Coach’s tools and technology to support store operations and service.
  5. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and talent development strategies.
  6. Manage operational tasks including sales, payroll, HR, and loss prevention.
  7. Forecast and plan budgets in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  8. Communicate effectively with leadership and team members.
  9. Maintain store aesthetics and safety standards.

Additional requirements:

  • 1-3 years of management experience in luxury retail preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and retail systems.
  • Physical ability to perform job functions, including lifting and maneuvering merchandise.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
