Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager in leading day-to-day bakery operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced environment.
You will coach, develop, and motivate hourly team members, assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training, and help manage staffing, inventory, and quality to run a great bakery. This role offers a pathway to own a bakery in the future.
Insomnia Cookies was founded in a college dorm room by then-student, Seth Berkowitz. Fast forward 20 years and so... many....cookies... later, our innovative bakery + delivery concept has become a cult brand known for its rabid following of cookie lovers who crave Insomnia’s warm, delicious delivery all day and late into the night. With an expanding footprint of over 350 stores globally, an experiential, “sweet-easy” flagship concept, and large scale operations and delivery capabilities ... Insomnia Cookies is revolutionizing the cookie game by truly "Imagining What’s Possible"!
At Insomnia Cookies, warm is more than how we serve our cookies—it’s how we show up for our guests, our teams, and each other.
As an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM), you’ll help bring that to life every day by working side-by-side with your Bakery Operations Manager to build an energized, well‑trained team, create unforgettable guest experiences, and keep the bakery running at its best. You’ll coach and develop people, jump in wherever you’re needed, and take real ownership of the details that make a great bakery great—from staffing and inventory to quality, cleanliness, and execution. And when the BOM isn’t there, you’ll be ready to step up and lead.
This role is built for someone who wants more than an assistant manager job: it’s an opportunity to learn the business, grow as a leader, and develop the skills and confidence to one day run an Insomnia bakery of your own.
This position works in a fast‑paced bakery environment that includes frequent interaction with guests, exposure to heat from ovens, refrigerated storage areas, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise levels. Evening, late‑night, weekend, and holiday shifts are a regular part of the business.
Our bakeries are busiest during evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Team Members should have availability during these peak business hours. Scheduling needs vary by location.
