Job description

Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Compensation

$16.00 – $22.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums that may be paid in amounts per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training compliance.
• Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified selections.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
• Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and courteously; refunds are issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is processed or staged in the returns area correctly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure team members adhere to company policies, posted work schedules, and that deviations are approved by management; verify clock-in/out compliance.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, secure money/deposits per policy, prepare bank deposits as needed, ensure night security lights are on, lock doors, arm/disarm security alarms, and secure delivery vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification

Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification; Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
