Job summary

Total Wine & More in Omaha, NE is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand through best-in-class service and a distinctive beverage assortment. You will support store operations and help create a sales and service culture to expand the customer base and profitability.

You will lead a team, drive sales, manage payroll and inventory, and ensure a welcoming customer experience while adhering to laws and policies. This role reports to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience, 2+ years in supervisory role.
• Experience leading a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and meet key performance metrics.
• Recruit, train, and lead store team and develop staff.
• Support daily operations including payroll, inventory and merchandising.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships to support inventory objectives.
• Ensure compliance with laws and maintain a safe store environment.

About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will grow the company brand by delivering best-in-class service and bringing to life a distinctive world of adult beverages and more for our customers. You will support store operations and help build a sales and service culture to expand your customer base and maximize profitability. Internally, you will be referred to as Assistant Manager and report to the Store Manager.

You will

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs)
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills
• Support day-to-day operations, including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example, fostering a welcoming and knowledgeable store atmosphere, and resolving customer issues
• Help maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

You will come with

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends

Physical requirements (with or without accommodations)

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
