Ames Tool Corporation – Nashville is seeking a motivated Retail Associate to support the Store Manager in growing revenue and ensuring smooth operations at the Nashville location. You will greet customers, process rental and sales transactions, merchandise, conduct inventories, and assist with coverage across stores in the region.

This role requires basic math, reliable transportation, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall operation of an Ames company retail store.
• Open and close the store when the Store Manager is absent.
• Merchandise products and organize the showroom and rear warehouse for safe and effective material handling.
• Report inventory discrepancies or customer issues to the Store Manager.
• Assist with store coverage at other store locations in the region as necessary.
• Maintain positive business relationships with existing Ames customers and cultivate new business opportunities with Interior Finishing Contractors in the assigned selling area.
• Generate revenue growth through effective marketing of Ames automatic taping tools, parts, and equipment, including promotion of add-on sales.

Daily Functions May Include

• Greeting customers and providing customer service.
• Processing rental and sales transactions.
• Order processing and merchandising.
• Inventory and tool audits.
• Collections.
• Housekeeping.
• Database development.
• Cash handling, bank deposits, and loss prevention.

Additional Functions May Include

• Boxing and shipping tools to repair centers.
• Receiving tool and merchandise shipments into inventory.
• Collaborating with Field Specialist personnel to identify training lead prospects for enhanced revenue generation.
• Demonstrating and effectively presenting Ames tools and products.
• Executing Ames sales and marketing programs.
• Maintaining rental tools and contractor equipment.
• Assisting with planning and execution of open‑house customer events.
• Maintaining organized files, bank deposit receipts, and accurate record keeping.
• Completing competitive shops as necessary.
• Performing collection duties as assigned.
• Submitting quality tags, expense reports, and prototype tool testing questionnaires in a timely manner.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
